The man whom the late Ponovizher Rosh Yeshiva called one of the ל"ו צדיקים was a Talmid of the Yeshiva Achei Tmimim in Tel Aviv, before being "coaxed away" by the Ponovizher Rov to his newly-recreated Yeshiva on the hill. The give away was the fact that they do mention that he learned by Reb Dovid Povarski, who, כידוע, was a Rosh Yeshiva in Lubavitch. Maybe to his overzealous family or friends this was some kind of stain on his record...
